Avalanche Energy, a micro-fusion firm based in Seattle, announced on Monday that it had successfully closed a $40 million investment round. The company’s main priority is the creation of a portable and effective fusion power generation system. This type of energy has long been regarded as the “holy grail” of clean power due to its capacity to generate an endless supply of energy.
The company has also revealed that it has achieved a critical technological milestone by obtaining a 200 kV (kilovolt) output level with its second-generation fusion device, which has been given the moniker “Marty.” The CEO of Avalanche Energy, Robin Langtry, claims that this could surpass the 190 kV mark as the highest working voltage ever attained by any fusion device.
