AI Advancements: Just the Beginning or Overhyped?
Builder.ai CEO, Sachin Duggal, likens today’s AI systems to the early days of the internet and suggests that the true potential of AI has yet to be realized.
Sachin Duggal, co-founder and CEO of Builder.ai, spoke with CNBC on Friday and emphasized that the current state of artificial intelligence is comparable to the initial phase of the internet. “We’re only in the AOL world of AI still,” Duggal mentioned during the interview. He clarified that the perception of being in the “fiber optic world of AI” is far from reality.
Duggal also pointed out that AI is not limited to large language models and ChatGPT, despite their popularity being the focus of many discussions. The AI hype has surged recently, fueled by excitement surrounding ChatGPT, the widely-used AI chatbot.
Investors are keen on backing startups that create AI tools, anticipating a significant transformation for the digital economy, similar to the impact of the iPhone’s invention.
