Pietra, an e-commerce infrastructure startup based in New York, has successfully raised $16 million in funding. The investment round was led by M13, with Carter Reum and Brent Murri from M13 joining the company’s board.
The startup plans to use the funding to expand its platform and develop its membership plan for e-commerce businesses. The “Pietra Membership Program” is a comprehensive monthly subscription that provides all the necessary infrastructure and software for individuals aiming to launch or manage a direct-to-consumer (DTC) business. Pietra offers its members thousands of dollars’ worth of software for free, including returns software, influencer marketing tools, and more. The company also provides a connected ecosystem of infrastructure, such as a private fulfillment center directly linked to a brand’s supply chain.
Co-founded by CEO Ronak Trivedi and COO Tala Akhavan, Pietra equips entrepreneurs and brands with the tools and services they need to establish and grow their commerce businesses. The business membership program delivers the software and infrastructure required for e-commerce businesses to expand their brands while maintaining a lean operation. Members receive access to research and product development tools, a network of vetted product and packaging manufacturers, a private fulfillment center, and a sales network that helps brands sell more products. Pietra is also developing a suite of software tools that brands typically pay for, but are included with each membership. The company streamlines the entrepreneurial process and allows businesses to operate efficiently in the digital environment. Since its inception, Pietra has experienced significant growth, attracting both rapidly growing DTC brands and creator-led businesses.
The company has doubled its team and extended its operations to Los Angeles and San Francisco. Pietra also plans to reinforce its presence in New York in 2023.
