Microsoft is integrating its AI-driven productivity tool, Copilot, into SharePoint to enhance user experience and streamline content creation. Copilot’s innovative features in SharePoint include transforming a user’s existing document or presentation into a visually engaging page using SharePoint’s high-quality design elements. Additionally, Copilot can help users tailor text passages to better resonate with their target audience’s tone and preferences.
Copilot’s technology combines the capabilities of large language models with user data in Microsoft Graph. This allows SharePoint users to generate a starter site by writing a prompt that extracts relevant information from across their organization while automatically adhering to the company’s brand.
The updated SharePoint start page features templates that cater to various business communication needs, such as newsletters, event announcements, project tracking sites, trip reports, and brochure sites. After creating an initial draft, Copilot assists users in fine-tuning site details, including navigation and aesthetic settings.
Teper, a Microsoft executive, noted that Copilot’s design and branding capabilities cover “the full spectrum of solid web design.” The tool can help users with webpage branding and themes, typography and fonts, grid and layout, video and imagery, and animations and motion.
Furthermore, SharePoint is introducing a brand center where users can define design elements like fonts and colors that are crucial to their business and products. This feature ensures that site owners adhere to users’ branding guidelines, resulting in consistent branding across various pages. With Copilot’s integration into SharePoint, users can expect a more efficient and visually appealing content creation experience.
