E-con Systems, a Chennai-based firm specializing in embedded vision technologies, has successfully procured $13M in investment. The primary financier in this round was GR 2022 Holdings.
The firm has outlined plans to utilize this funding to expedite its growth strategies, with specific focus on the establishment of cutting-edge facilities dedicated to imaging, Autonomous Mobile Robots, Autonomous shopping, and Cellular and Molecular Imaging Core Laboratory.
e-con Systems was brought to life in 2003 by Ashok Babu Kunjukannan, Harishankkar Subramanyam and Maharajan Veerabahu. Since then, the company has established a robust global presence as an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of camera solutions. Its portfolio of offerings spans a broad spectrum, featuring MIPI camera modules, GMSL cameras, FPD Link III cameras, USB 3.1 Gen 1 cameras, GigE cameras, stereo cameras, among others. These products find their applications in a diverse array of industries that include but are not limited to retail, medical, industrial, agriculture, and smart cities.
In its journey so far, e-con Systems has formed strategic partnerships with host platform providers such as NVIDIA, NXP, and Qualcomm, and major sensor manufacturers like Sony, Onsemi, and Omnivision.
