According to insiders familiar with the company’s discussions, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman revealed these potential plans during a recent meeting with developers in London.
The proposed marketplace would cater to enterprise customers who have customized ChatGPT to meet their specific requirements. These tailored AI models have found applications in diverse areas, ranging from detecting financial fraud in online transactions to providing insights based on internal documents for specific market segments.
By offering a platform for creators to share their AI solutions, OpenAI aims to expand its customer base and make its technology more accessible. Notably, two of OpenAI’s customers, Aquant and Khan Academy, have expressed interest in offering their AI models powered by ChatGPT on the marketplace. Aquant develops software that assists manufacturers in guiding customers through device maintenance and repairs, while Khan Academy is renowned for its educational app. Their participation would enhance the diversity of AI models available in the marketplace, further enriching the offerings for potential buyers.
